A five minute walk from the station, just off Mai Mai Street. Look for the white restaurant with the wood carved hanging fish and our hand carved sign made from a Japanese cypress tree.
Traditionally, sea women or “Ama” dove for shellfish and seaweed into water sometimes 30 feet deep for up to two minutes at a time wearing nothing but a loin cloth. Although this ancient practice is dwindling, our restaurant still adheres to the traditional recipe of preparing isojiru miso soup, a popular “Ama” dish, using at least five different kinds of shellfish.
